About Colour Gro

History

The business was founded as Prospect Nurseries in 1984 by David Beadsmoore who grew up in a rural village called Eskdale Green in the Western Lake District, he was taught many growing skills as a child by his grandfather who encouraged him to grow vegetables and fruit, selling them on to the local village store.

At 23 years of age David was an unfulfilled time served Instrument Mechanic now living at Distington near the Cumbrian west coast, he returned to his "roots" and started a business growing Fruit and Vegetables outdoors for local shops. The company expanded steadily investing in glasshouses, polythene tunnels, plant and equipment. The product range evolved over the years to Cut Flowers then Bedding Plants, Basket Plants and Herbs.
